Who are we?

Maybe it’s easier to start with who we aren’t. We’re not chefs. We’re not food scientists or food stylists. We don’t have state-of-the-art kitchens filled with thousands of dollars of equipment. We’re everyday people with a passion for making great food and sharing recipes. You don’t need to be a master chef to make our food – you just need to be able to follow the recipe and have a little fun.

What you’ll find on this site is a range of recipes that we’ve tried and tested, most of which can be made without needing any fancy equipment or over-the-top expensive ingredients.

About Kerrin

I’m a mum of three sons so I’ve spent more than my fair share of time in the kitchen over the last 23 years. It’s just as well that I’ve always loved cooking! I love baking and have spent a lot of time over the years creating recipes that travel well in lunchboxes and stand up to being transported in less-than-ideal conditions. My famed Chunky Chewy Choc Chip Cookie recipe was one of the stars of the menu when we had a cafe about 15 years ago, with people phoning ahead to place their order from the fresh batches I baked each morning and to this day is a guaranteed ‘bet you can’t have just one’ crowd pleaser.

My kitchen ‘loves’ are my food processor, my 30 year old marble rolling pin, and – more recently – my air fryer. My pet peeves are recipes that are overly complicated for no reason and food blogs that have 1000 words of content before the recipe. Which is something I guarantee you won’t find on this site 🙂

I’m also a geek – so you may very well find some nerd-inspired recipes here (keep an eye out for things like Lembas Bread and Pumpkin Pasties) and I LOVE my coffee, so expect to see some caffeinated recipes as well.
